Well we have done it. 127.5 miles from Liverpool to Leeds along the canal has been completed by myself, my Dad and my brother. It took 3 very long days, lots of blister plasters, deep heat spray and pain but we have raised a lot of money. We are hoping to have nearly reached £1,000 once everyone has donated the money they have pledged.
If anyone would still like to donate, please visit this page:

Here are a few photos that we took during the run.
Thank you to everyone who has donated money so far. It really is appreciated and made the hard work worthwhile!

We have 1 week of training left until we run and cycle from Liverpool to Leeds - not long now!!
I had my first set of jabs this week...I do not like needles and I still have 7 more injections before I leave for India. Not happy about that but at least **touch wood** I will not get ill!
Also, I have my training weekend in 2 weeks time where I will get to meet the people who will be in India with me. This is very exciting and I am really looking forward to it.
Last note...please please please get donating!!

Fundraising update
The fundraising is going very well so far. I have raised £470 which is 58% of my £800 target. I still have a long way to go and I would like to raise as much money as possible for Raleigh International.
Please help me reach above and beyond my target of £800 by making a donation:

Finally, please remember why I am raising money. Raleigh International and ICS do great work within rural communities in India and really do make a difference. There are two programmes which Raleigh run in India. The rural health programme and the livelihoods programme.
The rural health programme entails:

We will be doing our sponsored cycle and run from Liverpool to Leeds in 10 days time. I will keep everyone up to date with our progress during the 3 days.
Finally, please remember why I am raising money. Raleigh International and ICS do great work within rural communities in India and really do make a difference. There are two programmes which Raleigh run in India. The rural health programme and the livelihoods programme.
The rural health programme entails:
- Gathering data and research about sanitation facilities and healthcare in the area
- Working with Raleigh's partner NGOs to plan and build eco-sanitation toilets: providing safe and hygienic facilities for local families
- Organising health camps in partnership with local hospitals and doctors to provide expert advice and treatment in rural communities
- Working with children and young people in schools, teaching them about health and hygiene
The rural livelihoods programme entails:
- Surveying the community, obtaining information about livelihoods and the local workforce
- Partnering with NGOs and other organisations to build cow sheds and vermi-compost units
- Working with women's and farmers' groups introducing the idea of using organic fertilisers and pesticides, and growing crops which have higher nutritional benefits
- Organising veterinary camps to improve the health of livestock and prevent outbreaks of disease leading to loss of income

Liverpool to Leeds
This is just a short update on the sponsored run and cycle from Liverpool to Leeds.
The run and cycle is going to be taking place on Wednesday 17th April - Friday 19th April (and maybe Saturday 20th April...depends how long it takes us!!)
I am nearly halfway to my £800 target so please dig deep into your pockets for a worthwhile cause!
Also, can everyone have a hunt around in their wardrobes/garages at home. If there is anything you no longer want, that I could sell on eBay, then please be generous and donate it. Every little helps!!

My Indian Adventure Starts Here...With Your Help!
At the end of 2012, I was given the news I was hoping for. I had been offered the opportunity to go to India with Raleigh International and the International Citizen's Service.
Funded by the Department for International Development, it is a great scheme working with six different charities who are aiming to tackle global poverty. For more information, have a look on this website:
I will be in India for 10 weeks in the summer of 2013 and I will be involved in plenty of projects that will be life-changing for the villages in India that we will be working with.
Take a look at this video, it is astonishing how much work one team did in the summer of 2012.
I have set up a 'Just Giving' page in order to raise my £800 target and I hope that family and friends will donate generously to such a worthwhile cause.

I am in the process of organising a fundraiser; the plan is for me, my dad and my brother to run and cycle the 127 miles of canal path from Liverpool to Leeds. I will keep you updated on the progress of our training!
As a final note, if anyone has any unwanted items that you think I could sell on eBay - please don't hesitate to donate them!!
Thanks.
